THEATER OF THE STARS ANNOUNCES ADULT AUDITIONS
on Friday November 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. for
Theater of the Stars will hold adult auditions for ANNIE on Friday November 11, 2011at 10:00 a.m. Registration will open at 9:45 a.m. Call backs will take place later that afternoon. Audition location: St. Mark United Methodist Church, 781 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30308. Please note that there is limited parking at the church.
These auditions are available for both Actors’ Equity and non-Equity actors. Actors’ Equity Members will be seen by appointment.
All roles are open. This is an Actors’ Equity Association production. All roles are paid roles. The AEA minimum salary is $902. We are looking for principal and ensemble roles. The hope is to cast the majority of the parts for this show in Atlanta.
We are looking for male and female actors who act, sing and dance well. Please bring two copies of your headshot and resume. Bring your own sheet music and be prepared to sing 16 bars of music from a Broadway musical song that best shows off your voice. Musical accompaniment will be provided. No a cappella, pop or rock selections please. Please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance if asked for a call back.
In order to be cast in ANNIE you must be available from Wednesday January 4, 2012 through January 22, 2012. Rehearsal will tentatively start on January 4, 2012 (the tentative rehearsal schedule is 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day until tech starts), the show will tech in Atlanta and open at the Fox Theatre on January 14, 2012. The show closes at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on January 22, 2012. Local Atlanta actors are not required to travel for this production.
Please note that the appointments are for Actors’ Equity Members Only. All non-Equity Actors should show up at 10:00 a.m.

On Saturday, November 12, 2011, Theater of the Stars will hold auditions for The Principal Orphan Roles and the Youth Ensemble for ANNIE.
This audition is for girls between the ages of 7-13 years old (must be 13 years old or younger at the time of performances) who are 5 feet tall or shorter for ANNIE. The audition is being held at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 781 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. (See Map Above) Registration is from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. and children must be at registration in order to audition. The audition will start at 1:00 p.m. Please note that there is limited parking available at the church.
Regarding the Principal Orphan Roles:
The principal role of ANNIE will be a paid part and will be on an AEA contract. The other Principal Orphan Roles – Tessie, Duffy, Pepper, Molly, Kate and July – are non-paid roles. The time commitment for a Principal Orphan Role is January 4, 2012 - January 22, 2012. Rehearsals will be held daily and are tentatively set for 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until tech starts.
Regarding the Youth Ensemble Roles:
The youth ensemble roles are all non-paid parts. The time commitment for a Youth Ensemble Role is tentatively set for January 7, 2012 – January 22, 2012. The schedule is TBD and will mostly be on weekends or in the late afternoons after school until performances start.
Interested girls between the ages of 7 and 13 years old, who are 5’ or shorter, should bring two head shots (8x10 head shots are preferred) and resumes, with all contact information attached. Head shots will not be returned. You must have these materials with you in order to audition. Children should be prepared to sing songs from the show to audition, including “The Hard Knock Life” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile” and be prepared to dance. Musical accompaniment will be provided.
Call backs will be held on Sunday November 13th. If asked to return for a call back you should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance and sing. You may be asked to read lines from the show. Accompaniment will be provided.
Performance dates for ANNIE are January 14-22, 2012 at Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre. Please note that if your child is selected for the show, she must participate in all rehearsals to which she is called and every performance. ANNIE is a local production and will tech and perform in Atlanta. Local Atlanta actors will not need to travel to be in this show.
