Atlanta, GA (August 25, 2010) --- “We are thrilled to bring back the award-winning smash hit Broadway musical, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” states Christopher B. Manos, Producer of Theater of the Stars. “Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on stage at the Fabulous Fox Theatre from January 12-16, 2011. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast features the animated film’s Academy Award®-winning score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional songs with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice. The book is written by Linda Woolverton.
The original creators of the Broadway production are together again for this new touring production! The play is directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West, with Costume Design by Ann Hould-Ward (Tony Award® winner for her work on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), Lighting Design by Natasha Katz, Scenic Design by Stanley A. Meyer, Sound Design by John Petrafesa Jr. and Music Supervision by Michael Kosarin.
Director Rob Roth: “It has been wonderful to bring the entire original design team back together to work on this new production of Beauty and the Beast. As a director, it is rare to have the opportunity to revisit your work fifteen years later. Hopefully I’ve grown and developed as an artist, along with my collaborators, and we can bring 15 years of experience to this new production. We have remained very close as a team over the years of producing the show around the world, and it has been so much fun getting together to re-explore and re-invent the show for this new NETworks tour. The theme of ‘Beauty’ is about seeing past the exterior into the heart of someone, and this is reflected in the design for the show, which is about transparency and layers, seeing past one thing and into another.”
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has become an international sensation that has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 21 countries. For additional information about the show, visit www.BeautyAndTheBeastOnTour.com.

I can’t wait for this show to hit the road so people across the country can see why I’m so proud of everyone involved.”
9 to 5: The Musical is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. This is the story of three unlikely friends who conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do -- even in a man's world. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, 9 to 5: The Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business... it's about getting credit and getting even.

9 to 5: The Musical’s book is by Patricia Resnick (co-writer of the original screenplay). The touring production will be directed and choreographed by Tony nominated, Jeff Calhoun. "I met Dolly Parton as a chorus kid dancing in the film ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’ only a few years after ‘9 to 5’ was already a hit movie. It was a thrill to work with her then and an honor and privilege to be entrusted to direct and choreograph this exciting new tour of 9 to 5: The Musical” said Mr. Calhoun. Classic Musical Set To Play 8 Performances From August 24-29
“We are delighted to present a new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC,” states Christopher B. Manos, Producer of Theater of the Stars. “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical has won over legions of fans throughout the years because of its beautiful score, heartwarming story, and hopeful message. Makes plans to join us for THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the Fabulous Fox Theatre from August 24-29. We know it will be one of your favorite things! Tickets are on sale now by calling 800-982-2787, at the Fox Theatre Box Office, and online at www.ticketmaster.com.”
Audiences will be captivated by Mandy Bruno as the irrepressible novitiate (“nun in training”) Maria. Mandy received an Emmy nomination for her role as Marina Cooper on the CBS soap opera, “The Guiding Light.” On Broadway she starred as Eponine in Les Misérables and was featured in Patti Lupone’s Gypsy. Regionally she starred as Belle in Beauty and the Beast at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and as Anne in the world premiere of Green Gables at the Columbus Theater.
Burke Moses stars as the stern, yet compassionate Captain Von Trapp. After debuting on Broadway as Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, he went on to create the role of Gaston in the Broadway, Los Angeles, and London productions of Disney’s mega-hit Beauty and the Beast. Also on Broadway Mr. Moses headlined in the smash revival of Kiss Me Kate, and played Heracles in Stephen Sondheim’s Frogs at Lincoln Center. He portrayed Captain Von Trapp in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s revival of The Sound of Music in Toronto. His regional credits include The Fantasticks, The Way of the World, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Streetcar Named Desire, The Music Man, Carousel, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He recently played Babe Ruth in the world premier of Johnny Baseball at the American Repertory Theater.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC also boasts the talents of Jeanne Lehman as the wise Mother Abbess. She was a smash success in the same role on Broadway and in the National Tour with Richard Chamberlain. She starred on Broadway in the role of Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast. She’s been in dozens of regional productions and national tours including Hello Dolly with Carol Channing. Ed Dixon portrays the outspoken Max Detweiler. His many Broadway appearances include Sunday In The Park With George, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, The Iceman Cometh, Les Misérables, Cyrano, The Three Musketeers and The Scarlet Pimpernel. He garnered a Drama Desk Nomination for his performance in Shylock which he adapted from The Merchant of Venice. He was featured in The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas with Ann-Margret and in Pippin with Ben Vereen. Teri Dale Hansen is delightfully catty as the Baroness Elsa Schraeder. Her Broadway credits include The Boys From Syracuse. She starred as Magnolia in both the national tour and the West End production of Show Boat. She starred in the national tours of The Music Man as Marian and in Camelot as Guenevere.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC is set in Austria in the late 1930’s, immediately prior to the Nazi invasion. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical tells the story of Maria, a high-spirited nun novitiate, whose enthusiasm for life is both admired and resented by the nuns at the Abbey. The Mother Abbess receives a request from widowed Naval Officer, Captain Von Trapp, to find a Governess for his seven children. She decides this is an ideal opportunity for Maria to experience life in the outside world before taking her final vows.
Maria sets out with confidence to do an exemplary job and finally gain the approval of the Mother Abbess and the other nuns. She soon wins the hearts of the children, and eventually that of the Captain himself. She brings the household back to life with music, singing and laughter, and in the process she falls in love. Confused and frightened by this new feeling, she questions all that she knows of life. But love conquers all. She and the Captain marry and set out for a blissful honeymoon.
But the threat of Hitler is not far away, and soon the family must make a very difficult decision. Rather than live under the Nazi regime, they decide to make a daring escape across the mountains into Switzerland. Ultimately they make it to freedom and become internationally known as “The Trapp Family Singers.”
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s glorious score is filled with lilting melodies and lyrics that tug at your heart strings. Memorable songs include: “My Favorite Things,” Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Edelweiss,” “So Long, Farewell,” and of course the title song, “The Sound of Music.” The book is by the award-winning team of Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse.
The original Broadway production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score. The 1965 movie starring Julie Andrews received five Academy Awards including Best Picture and has become the most popular movie musical ever made.

Produced by CATS-Eye, LLC, the national tour of CATS is the only production in North America sanctioned by Andrew Lloyd Webber. With original direction by Trevor Nunn and choreography by Gillian Lynne this is the CATS credited with the British invasion of Broadway. The national tour of CATS recently celebrated its 27th anniversary season, holding its place as the longest continuously touring Broadway musical in history.
On May 11, 1981, CATS opened at the New London Theatre in the West End. Eight years later it celebrated its first important milestone: after 3,358 performances CATS became the longest running musical in the history of British theatre. CATS played its final performance on its 21st birthday, May 11, 2002.
CATS opened on Broadway October 7, 1982 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and continued to live up to its motto "Now and Forever." On June 19, 1997, CATS became the longest running musical on Broadway. It ended its 18 year run on September 10, 2000 with 7,485 performances. That record was broken by The Phantom of the Opera on January 9, 2006 when Phantom celebrated its 7,486th curtain.
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, and with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, CATS won seven 1983 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Lighting and Best Costumes.
In October of 1991 CATS became the longest continuously touring show in American theatre history. Five continents, 26 countries, over eight and a half million audience members and 27 years later, CATS is still America’s most loved family musical. Celebrating not only 27 years but the birth of the musical spectacular, CATS is still revolutionary and awe inspiring.
Now that it was been seen by millions of audience members worldwide, it is time to celebrate with the whole family the magic, the mystery, the wonder of CATS.
CATS will play the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta from August 4-8, 2010. Performances are Wednesday-Friday at 8 pm, Saturday at 11 am, 3:30 pm & 8 pm, and Sunday at 1:30 pm & 7 pm. Atlanta, GA (July 7, 2010) --- Theater of the Stars announced today that the Atlanta engagement of THE COLOR PURPLE originally scheduled for August 18-22, 2010 has been postponed until June 15-19, 2011.
“THE COLOR PURPLE has a special connection with Atlanta audiences that has resulted in sold out multi-week engagements in both 2008 and 2009,” states Nick Manos, president of Theater of the Stars. “In the spirit of continuing that unique relationship between the show and the audience, we have decided to bring the show back every two years (as we do in Atlanta for ANNIE, CATS and STOMP).
We were hopeful to start this rotation in 2010 but a recent scheduling conflict has arisen for both the summers of 2010 and 2012. It was clear after consulting with the show’s producers and the management at the Fox that the best option was to look for a mutually available week in 2011 and postpone the show. We were lucky to find a prime slot available and have confirmed the show for the third week of June in 2011. The show schedule and pricing will remain the same.”
Ticket buyers have three options: They can keep their tickets and keep the same seats if they want to attend the same performance day and time next summer (i.e. keep a Sunday matinee ticket to go to the Sunday matinee on June 19, 2011), they can exchange their tickets for another performance of the show next year, or they can request a refund.
All transactions will be handled at the point of original purchase. Questions can be directed to Theater of the Stars at
